General Liability

Liability insurance is probably one of the least understood coverages available to insure a business. It is written to protect the business from loss due to an allegation of negligence. And, of course, negligence can take many forms. A basic policy protects the insured against claims of bodily injury and property damage. This could be something as simple as an alleged trip and fall on the business premises. Your business can be accused of improper maintenance, leading to the trip and fall (e.g. parking lot, steps).  The allegation of negligence may be without merit, but the legal defense costs can be considerable - and a court finding for the plaintiff can be financially devastating for your business.

Of course, there are many other liability issues a business faces, as well as individuals involved in the business. There’s wrongful termination of an employee, discrimination, failure to comply with Privacy Act requirements with respect to customers’ information, improperly serving an alcoholic beverage to a customer who later gets involved in accident, and more.

Have you ever sat on a board of directors for a non-profit or charitable organization? If someone alleges improper financial activities against the board, are you covered? Unfortunately, your Homeowner policy will not be of any use. Give us a call and we’ll help you protect yourself and your business.

Professional Liability/Errors & Omissions

Some professions require this insurance because a basic General Liability policy excludes coverage for negligent professional acts (consider an architect or engineer accused of improper design leading to an accident). Sometimes it can be included in the General Liability, but only with the proper endorsement. We represent many companies who offer this vital coverage and we can find the most affordable policy for you.

Environmental/Pollution Liability

Whether you’re purchasing commercial property and need pollution coverage for the land, or if your profession involves environmental challenges, we represent companies that provide all the liability coverage your business needs.

ERISA

If your office has a 401(k) plan, the federal Employee Retirement Income Security Act requires you to carry ERISA Insurance. This coverage reimburses covered plans for loss due to fraud by a trustee, officer, employee, administrator or a manager.

Cyber Liability

If your company does business on the Internet, you should have this coverage to help protect you and your customers. Even businesses that don’t sell on the Web, but still use the Internet to manage personal customer information are at great risk. In this modern age of malicious hackers and strict privacy laws, Cyber Liability needs to be considered.

Property

Do you own your building, or just the contents as a tenant? We represent many companies that provide coverage for both and in most cases we can combine it with General Liability. Give us a call and we can help you protect your biggest investment – your business.

Auto

If you have autos registered in your business name, you need Commercial Auto coverage.  Even if your business doesn’t own vehicles, ask us about Hired and Non-owned Liability insurance: this important policy covers bodily injury and property damage caused by a vehicle you hire - including rented or borrowed vehicles - or caused by vehicles owned by others, including your employees. Why should you be concerned with the auto liability policy your employee has? Consider - you ask an employee to drop-off the mail at the post office during lunch hour, or on the way home. The employee gets into an accident resulting in injury. Since he (she) was performing a job activity, the employer may be brought into the the case as a defendent. The employee's auto policy may provide some coverage for the employer, but when the employee's liability insurance is used up, the employer must bear the financial responsibility for the balance of the liability suit.

Workers’ Compensation

Do you own a business in New York State and have employees?  If so, you are required to carry Workers’ Compensation coverage by law. Aggressive lawyers advertise every day on television, fishing for workers' compensation claims – isn’t it time your company had the insurance you really need?

Inland Marine

Do you have tools and equipment that may stay on your premise or be taken to job sites? If so, you can stop worrying about those expensive tools by carrying Inland Marine coverage.  Even if you carry Business Personal Property insurance, there may be a distance limit where your property will be covered. In those cases, Inland Marine will give you the peace of mind you need.

Crime

Do you own a business with large cash flow or a high-value inventory?  Crime insurance can be an option to make sure you are covered if your business is the victim of a crime.

Bonds

We write bonds!  Some agencies do not offer this valued service.  Wolf Agency has the coverage you need, from Liquor bonds, to Bid, Performance & Payment, Janitorial, etc.

Special Event

Are you hosting a concert, parade or fundraiser? Is your church or club inviting the community to a celebration? We can help write a one-time policy covering your event to ensure you don’t suffer loss due to an alleged injury (e.g. trip-and-fall).

Sports/Athlete Insurance

Are you organizing a tournament or do you manage a league?  Call us – we have several competitively-priced options, including Accident insurance for both participants and spectators.
